Knit Fibers

Fibers are the source of yarn, they are either continuous or in form of staple. They are spun to form yarn that is knitted to become fabric. We ensure the base of our product is of the finest quality so we could deliver our customer a fine product. We make sure the source of our fiber is ethical and without any contamination that could result affecting the consumer’s skin.

Bellow is the list of some fibers procured by us. We are not limited to the following but they are included in the range.

Cotton

CottonCotton is the largest source of textile’s fiber. Being in Pakistan we enjoy open availability of inland cotton. Moreover we procure Pima cotton from USA and Egyptian long staple Cotton.
At Kay & Emms we have dedicated team to make sure that cotton we procure in form of fiber or yarn is contamination free and cultivated without using harmful pesticides so called organic cotton. We prefer buying Cotton from Fair Trade sources.
Cotton is normally used fine carded and combed to result in a combination of fine staple lengths.

Interesting facts

<Moisture management + breathability = total comfort>

Breathability - The performance of COOLMAX® fabric is inherent in the structure itself.  The specially engineered fibers allow fabric designers to create high-performance fabrics that are soft, breathable, and moisture wicking.

Easy care - Garments made with COOLMAX® fabric are machine washable and dryable.  However, fabric softener and chlorine bleach should not be used.  Some garments may require special care because of the style, not the fabric.  It is best to read the care label inside the garment.

Year-round comfort - In cold weather, COOLMAX® fabric is a great first layer, especially during high aerobic activities.  It keeps chill-inducing perspiration away from your skin and moves it to the outer layers for evaporation.  You stay warm when your body is dry.

Thermolite® by Invista

Thermolite

Delivering warmth without bulk, for extreme conditions and everyday activities. THERMOLITE® fabric contains proprietary INVISTA fibers and are categorized by performance level.

  • Meet top performance requirements in activities where maximum warmth and protection are necessary, such as ice climbing.
  • Provide lightweight warmth and movement for any cold-weather activity, such as skiing and hiking.
  • Deliver comfort and warmth in all other winter environments, whether at home or on the job.

Thermolite® provides warmth and comfort without weight, even when wet. It’s the lightweight fabric that provides heavy-duty performance… because it’s fabric made with Thermolite® hollow-core fibres that trap air for greater insulation. Plus, wearers stay drier because it dries 20% faster than other insulating fabrics, and 50% faster than cotton. Thermolite® is the perfect layering fabric because it’s comfortable and lightweight, allowing more freedom of movement.

THERMOLITE® INSPIRED BY MOTHER NATURE

When DuPont scientists originally created Thermolite®, nature was their role model. They discovered that polar bears have fur containing thousands of tiny air pockets for greater insulation. From this simple discovery, Thermolite® and its and hollow-core fibres were born.

THERMOLITE® BUILT-IN INSULATION

Hollow-core fibre technology provides the most warmth at the lightest weight. The larger surface area allows for faster evaporation by speeding moisture away from the skin to the surface of the fabric where it can evaporate more quickly.

Winning the battle against cold Thermolite® has really proven its worth in the sporting environment. Without any kind of chemical treatment, the fabric guarantees optimum warmth coupled with moisture management during physical exertion.

Moisture is the enemy when it comes to sporting endeavors: moisture on the skin or on clothing not only makes the body shiver, but causes discomfort and may affect an athlete’s performance. The first layer of clothing clearly has to move this moisture away as quickly as possible. Thermolite® fulfils this role while keeping the body warm and dry. What’s more, less energy is used to heat the body and can therefore be refocused on stamina and performance.

Thermolite® provides warmth, from first layer to last. The benefits of the Thermolite® fabric extend far beyond the first layer. Both warm and light, it allows great freedom of movement, perfect qualities for a second layer. Meanwhile, the insulating properties of Thermolite® tops, leggings, fleeces, sweat-shirts and suits, etc. make them an ideal third layer for athletes, cyclists, skiers or snow boarders. Thermolite® offers its brilliant technology at every turn and guarantees constant warmth whatever the temperature.

From sports fabric to fashion fabric. Thermolite® has followed the trend of technical fabrics by moving from sport into everyday life. Having already demonstrated its virtues in sports, the innovative technical fabric became a natural choice for the ready-to-wear market. The perfect fabric for modern lifestyles. No matter how cold the climate, or how varying the temperature, Thermolite® helps active people with total comfort, whatever the situation.

Lightweight, soft, warm and comfortable, it meets the requirements of the ready-to-wear market. Thermolite® can be adapted to all kinds of clothes (trousers, dresses, tops, suits, etc.). Easy to care for (machine wash and dry), this fabric is just what the market is looking for.

Thermolite® combines functionality, comfort and contemporary design.

Both warm and light, it allows great freedom of movement and perfect qualities for work wear clothing. The benefits of Thermolite® fabric extend far beyond the firs layer.

Without any kind of chemical treatment, the fabric guarantees optimum warmth coupled with moisture management during a hard working day.

Thermolite® fabrics made of polyester fibre have optimum easy-care properties and outstanding durability, even when washed industrially - with a level of wearing comfort otherwise only possible with natural fibres.

Tri-blend Yarns (Cotton-Viscose-Polyester)

Why should our customers be limited to core spun or couple of blends, when they could choose their own blends of fibers. A very common example of a tri-blend yarn is CVP (Cotton-Viscose-Polyester).
We don’t keep our clients in a limit. It’s your choice to choose a blend with a customizable ratio. It will be your blend, your ratio and your knit.

Micro Polyester

Microfiber is a fiber with less than 1 denier per filament. (Denier is a measure of linear density and is commonly used to describe the size of a fiber or filament. Nine thousand meters of a 1-denier fiber weigh one gram.) Fibers are combined to create yarns. Yarns are knitted or woven in a variety of constructions. While many microfibers are made of polyester, they can also be composed of polyamide (nylon) or other polymers.

At Kay & Emms we utilize the invention with readily available micro fibers. Most commonly used is Micro Polyester from Rupali.
